It has become very clear that District 2 needs a new County Commissioner and that a change is needed.
If elected as County Commissioner my primary goals for the citizens of District 2 are:
- Provide open and integrity based representation for District 2
I have the qualifications and the desire to provide a different direction for District 2 and Tulsa County. County government, like all levels of government, should be open and accessible to the people who live within the district. There should be no special deals, no meetings without public discussion or scrutiny and the door to the Commissioner’s office should always be open to any citizen who wishes to be heard. This has not been the case in recent years and Tulsans and our economy have paid the price. As your Commissioner you can be certain that no unfair or destructive practices will occur under my watch.
- I will work to reduce the waste and mismanagement that has occurred within the County.
Tulsans are tired of our officials attempting to raise taxes every time a new need or issue arises. Tulsans want elected officials to simply manage our tax dollars effectively and to do the job they were elected to do. I believe that the only way for Tulsa to grow is not by raising our already high taxes but through the repair and replacement of our existing infrastructure. I believe government spending at all levels should be minimal and used only for those projects deemed necessary and important for the community. Elected officials must be held to a very high standard when spending our hard-earned taxpayer dollars.
- I will strive to develop a business friendly environment to promote economic growth.
Real development will only take hold when businesses large and small actually believe that they will have the opportunity to prosper and grow. Making Tulsa a business friendly environment will allow local business owners the opportunity to once again prosper within the community.

- Provide the County Sheriff’s department the resources required to effectively perform their jobs.
Public safety is the most important job a government entity must carry out. Tulsa Sheriff Stanley Glanz has done a remarkable job with the funds he has been allocated. The department, however, is under funded, understaffed, and overworked. Our deputies go to work every day and do a job that demands their absolute best to protect and serve our community. In return we need to provide them with the resources they need to maintain the department.
- I will provide oversight in dealing with the management of the Fairgrounds.
No other candidate can claim the experience I have in dealing with the Fairgrounds and the Tulsa County Fairgrounds Trust Authority in general. I believe that there is waste and mismanagement throughout the fairgrounds and I will work tirelessly to ensure that your tax dollars are properly spent. I will make public any discrepancies discovered and ensure that the public will always know what is happening to this vitally important part of Tulsa’s economy.
I have the qualifications and ability to faithfully represent District 2. I would sincerely appreciate your vote November 4th. Together we can make a difference and make the changes that are so desperately needed.
Sincerely,
Sally Bell
